These are the most sought-after places to work in Brazil, according to LinkedIn

Financial lenders and information technology services dominate in LinkedIn’s latest “Top Companies” ranking for Brazil, with a Sao Paulo-headquartered bank coming out on top.

With a user base of more than 610 million, LinkedIn annually compiles lists which look at companies that would best suit certain countries and employees based there, including in the likes of Brazil, Germany, France and the U.K.

For Brazil’s “Top Companies” ranking, the professional networking platform analyzed organizations against four categories: job seeker demand, level of retention, along with how much interest and engagement a business has. In Brazil alone, LinkedIn has confirmed to CNBC that there are over 36 million members.

Here are the top 10 businesses to work for in Brazil:

10. BTG Pactual

Global headcount: 2,000+

Headquartered in Brazil, BTG Pactual has offices across South America and dotted around the globe, including London and New York. Inside the firm, BTG Pactual describes its culture as both unique and one that has entrepreneurialism and meritocracy at the heart of it.

In terms of principles, the financial group measures itself against 12 values, including putting clients at the top of its agenda, thinking globally yet acting locally, and carefully evaluating short and long-term factors in situations that may involve risk taking.

9. Oracle

Global headcount: 138,500+

The leading computer software group operates in more than 170 countries worldwide. Almost half of Oracle’s workers come from the Americas, while over 75,000 are based in the European or Asia-Pacific regions.

For those lucky enough to secure a role, employees receive a range of benefits, including a stock purchase plan, flexible work schedules, and medical benefits like vision, dental and counseling.

8. IBM

Global headcount: 380,000+

When you’re hired as an “IBMer,” there are three values the group wants its staff to embrace: being innovative, putting clients first, and showing trust and personal responsibility in all relationships. For IBM, diversity is seen in the same vein as innovation, with CEO Ginni Rometty stating that “both are essential to the success of our business.”

7. Raizen

Global headcount: 30,000

Raizen is considered one of Brazil’s largest companies when it comes to revenue and fuel distribution, with the firm being the result of a joint venture between Shell and Cosan.

It focuses on ethanol, sugar, bio-energy and the distribution of various fuels — with one of its paramount objectives being to provide energy of the future to customers today. While it predominantly operates in Brazil, Raizen has offices in Texas, Geneva and Asia.

6. Bayer

Global headcount: 117,000

When it comes to this life sciences company, Bayer is all about delivering value in every area, whether that’s for its customers and stockholders, or for employees.

Concerning the latter, Bayer’s corporate culture covers four principles, dubbed “LIFE Values“: Leadership, integrity, flexibility and efficiency.

As a result, it encourages staff members to embody this “value culture,” which includes suggestions like open-mindedness, accountability, collaboration, reliability and being a role model.

5. Safra

Global headcount: 6,000+

One of many banks to feature in this year’s top 10, Safra has an international presence with its business based in over 20 nations. According to LinkedIn, Safra has an annual educational event in which the children of the bank’s employees are invited to.

To maintain the brand’s name and stature its created over 175 years and beyond, the bank has several values it stands by, including operational efficiency, careful risk management, and building strong connections with clients.

4. XP Group

Global headcount: 1,500+

The XP Group is on a mission to become the largest, leading financial group in the South American country, and aims to do this by assisting Brazilians with how they invest. The company has a wide selection of brands available to help offer investment advice, including XP Investimentos, Sartus Capital, and XP Education.

Inside the firm, XP aims to hire and retain top talent, and has six values for its employees to bear in mind. Some of these principles include putting the customer’s interest above all other agendas, dreaming big, and delivering high-quality services and products.

3. Movile

Global headcount: 1,600+

Made up of more than 10 companies, Movile has placed its interests in several areas, including food, entertainment and education. That comes on top of the company being a leader in the mobile marketplace, yet even with its current footprint, Movile has greater aspirations with the group hoping to make “life better for 1 billion people through their mobile devices.”

To support this goal, Movile aims to bring in, develop and keep talented staff, along with its desire to deliver strong results and innovate. In fact, LinkedIn reports that Movile encourages its employees from different brands to exchange their experiences.

2. Banco Santander

Global headcount: 202,000+

Moving sharply up from last year’s place at 21, the multinational commercial bank appears to be winning over the workforce in Brazil.

For those looking to work for the bank, the job process can often involve online assessments, being invited to a phone interview with a talent acquisition staff member, and even an assessment day. Once accepted, employees can be entitled to flexible hours and “Be Healthy,” a wellbeing program that’s already running in Brazil.

1. Itau Unibanco

Global headcount: 96,000+

For another year, the largest private sector bank in Brazil has maintained the top spot in the country’s “Top companies” list by LinkedIn. To preserve its place as a leading bank, Itau Unibanco has looked for new ways to embrace the digital age, have a strategy that’s sustainable and broaden its product range.

One of the bank’s top priorities however, comes down to its customers, with its mission to be seen as a bank that supports individuals and businesses in having a healthy, robust relationship with money. As a result, Itau looks to hire individuals who are passionate about what they love and who want to keep doing good.
